Please Stand By
(2024) This piece started as a standalone commissioned artwork. A surreal visual metaphor for Mitch McTaggart’s annual TV special: "The Backside of Television". It shows Mitch falling from the sky, crashing through a giant TV, and landing as the set builds itself around him. By the end, we realise we’ve been watching the show from the beginning. It was first created as a self-contained loop, then adapted into a series of promos across different platforms. The build combines rigid body simulations, particles, and layered transitions. Conceptually, it’s a bit of a love letter to collapsing the medium of TV and rebuilding it from the inside out.
